Matt Auten coordinates policy development and research for Environment Rhode Island Research & Policy Center. Based in Providence, he leads
the organization's policy agenda. Before joining the state PIRGs in August
of 2003, Matt worked as a campaign director for the Fund for Public Interest
Research in Portland, Maine, and Seattle. In 2004 Matt led RIPIRG’s successful
campaign to bring the California Clean Cars Standard to Rhode Island. Matt graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor's
degree in Political Science and History from McGill University in Montreal,
